A Brief Review of Paul Cable

 

 

Qualifications - Cert. Ed., NVQ 4 in BSL, Linguistics in BSL, Assessor Award (formally A1).

Signature trained assessor for BSL1 and BSL2. 

Paul is profoundly deaf and uses speech and sign language alternatively. He was born deaf and firstly learnt to speak with much effort from his mother.  Only at a later stage did he then learn BSL and progressed from that point on.  The use of BSL enabled Paul to have a social life whereas speech limits that ability to interact with hearing people.   Paul is fairly well known in the Deaf community.

Paul has been teaching British sign Language for more than 15 years in various settings at community colleges, adult education, and privately.  He is a qualified teacher at Cert. Ed. and has achieved NVQ4 in BSL.  He maintains his skills and knowledge for the benefit of learners through many resources and trainings relevant to BSL.

Paul has set up this business with the purpose of providing individual or small group requirements and to enable flexibility to meet those needs.  Some learners are able to progress rapidly whilst others need more time, thus the business aim is to provide all types of learners with their specific needs.

Paul has a lot of patience when teaching and provides a comfortable environment for learning. He is aware that some learners need more time and persistence to develop these sometimes complex skills.  His aim is to provide confidence for those who are very unsure of themselves.
